Passing Time

Posted by
Ian Smith (London, United Kingdom) on 29 September 2013 in Architecture and Portfolio.

This clock is mounted on the side of the tower of St Magnus the Martyr's Church of England, and is dated 1709.
What's interesting here is that the 'old' London Bridge exited beneath this tower on the north side of the River Thames (around the time Sir Christopher Wren build the current church), and the clock was added to allow those passing to clearly see what time it was.
