The Pagoda

Posted by
Ian Smith (London, United Kingdom) on 17 October 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

On the first weekend in October we had a rare mini-heatwave (30°C instead of 13°C), and it was a great opportunity to do something I've been thinking about all year - heading off to Kew Gardens to take some photos in the warm setting sun. And it was magical!
Beginning at the end of my afternoon tour, with a view of the Pagoda (in the south), before heading to the north exit in the last hour before the gates are locked - I hope you enjoy the series...

How beautiful that Pagoda deserves its surrounding autumnal splendour

Isn't the light just glorious! And I have taught about that very pagoda in my classes. I saw it once when I was small (about 10) but don't remember it well. Here it's magnificent. Looking forward to the series.
