My wife patiently waits for me upon the steps, looking skywards to see when the rain will come. Such an opportunity for such a pleasing shot : )

I don't normally go in for selective colour but in this instance it works really well, especially with your wife wearing red. The perspective is excellent and so too is the black and white conversion.

@Mike: Thank you Mike. I understand your reservations, and I only apply such selectiveness if I think it compliments the shot. It does look 'processed', but I think it works well as an image : )

@hugo poon: Thanks Hugo! Yes, it took a bit of effort to make the original shot more striking (about 15 minutes), but it was worth it : ) But then again, shooting with a little compact does require a bit of processing to make the images work sometimes.

Like Mike (above) I'm not always a fan of the selective coloring. But here it works beautifully, I think because the composition is so good. The strong geometry set off by the clouds is very nice.
